ALLEGRA MARTIN, mezzo-soprano
Allegra is from Lexington, MA and has a Masters in Choral Conducting from Westminster Choir College. She also has a BA in Physics and Music from Williams College. While at Westminster, she sang with Joseph Flummerfelt, James Jordan, and Andrew Megill. She has also performed with the New York Philharmonic and at the Spoleto Festival USA. Allegra sings with Schola Cantorum, and is currently studying voice with Emily Romney. As a choral conductor, Allegra is the music director both of Cantilena and at First Parish Cohasset; teaches at Lasell College; and serves as a Choral Artist with the Metropolitan Opera Guild's Urban Voices Program. Allegra writes a blog about all things choral. She is also a black belt in taekwondo. |
