ALLEGRA MARTIN, mezzo-soprano

Allegra is from Lexington, MA and has a Masters in Choral Conducting from Westminster Choir College. She also has a BA in Physics and Music from Williams College. While at Westminster, she sang with Joseph Flummerfelt, James Jordan, and Andrew Megill. She has also performed with the New York Philharmonic and at the Spoleto Festival USA. Allegra sings with Cappella Clausura and Schola Cantorum, and is currently studying voice with Emily Romney. As a conductor, she has conducted recent performances with the MIT G&S players is a regular guest conductor at AMC Mountains and Music, and is music director at First Parish Cohasset. Formerly, she was the founder and conductor of New Century Voices, and taught chorus at Winchester High School. Allegra also writes a blog about all things choral.
